APS Board of Ed., Atlanta City Council to Meet Wednesday

The Atlanta City Council and the Atlanta Public Schools board of education plan to meet Wednesday afternoon to discuss the details of school redistricting.

The group will take a close look at the latest proposal to redraw school attendance zones. Thirteen schools in the district are slated to close in superintendent Erroll B. Davis' initial recommendation.

The city council and board of education last met Dec. 12 to discuss initial proposals to shift school attendance boundaries. In a recent meeting of the North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools, city council intergovernmental affairs official Jim Elgar said the city council would continue working closely with the school board.

No action will be taken during the meeting.
