From Patch Reports

Two football players signed college scholarships on national signing day Tuesday.

Julius Holder, a linebacker, will play at Stetson University, and Will Flood, a defensive end, signed with Davidson, according to an announcement from the Buckhead school. Lovett alum Jonathan Carkhuff also plays at Davidson, the school said.

Holder was the Lions' leading tackler in 2011, with 70 solo stops, 26 assists and one sack. In 2010, when the Lions reached the AA semifinals, Holder was also the team's leading tackler with 75 solo stops, five sacks, five caused fumbles, and three fumble recoveries, one of which was returned for a touchdown, the school said.

Although Flood missed the first half of the season, rehabbing a knee operated on last spring, he came back to record 13 solo tackles. In 2010, Flood recorded 27 solo tackles and six sacks and also started on offense. He received recognition from the National Achievement Scholarship Program of the College Board for scoring in the top 3 percent on those tests
